Understanding the Navratna
The Navratna (also spelled Navaratna) is a combination of nine precious gemstones rooted in Vedic astrology and Hindu tradition. In the ancient Jyotish system, each gemstone corresponds to one of the nine celestial bodies (Navagraha).
Traditionally, the nine gemstones are worn together as a set, one for each of the Navagraha. The arrangement follows a pattern described in ancient texts, with Ruby (associated with the Sun) at the centre and the other eight stones around it.
At Kumud Fine Jewellery, you can choose a ready-made Navratna piece or have one made with loose gemstones of your choice. Ask us for the details of the stones in any piece before you order.
